DERRY GIRLS
In the Derry Girls committee delegates will serve as characters figuring out their futures. Set in the mid 1990’s they will balance the uncertainty that Northern Ireland is going through with their own personal motivations and futures. Delegates will navigate higher education and family life while grappling with the systemic change occurring around them, culminating in the Good Friday agreement.
Saturday Night Live WRITER’S ROOM
It takes a lot to keep Saturday Night Live seamlessly funny and have audiences returning week after week. SNL writers are kept on a fast-paced schedule, given only one week to write and prepare skits for the biggest celebrities in the industry. Join us behind the scenes in 2008 to see what it takes to get an episode to air amid a writer’s strike, financial crisis, and the rise of social media.
MINION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
From stealing the moon to building a secret lair, evil is expensive. The Minions must put their heads together to manage Gru’s current funds while plotting creative ways to secure additional resources. Can they craft a plan that keeps Gru's empire at the top without bankrupting him? Can the Minions top Vector's grandiose moon robbery? These are all questions for the Minion Board of Directors!
Russian Organization: Smuggling of Western Goods into the USSR
The Soviet Union and its citizens tire of promises of a socialist future and utopia. They now yearn for the forbidden fruits of the West: jeans, VHS tapes, vinyl records, and luxury goods that symbolize capitalism, freedom, and rebellion. Smuggling networks now thrive in the shadows of black markets hidden by the mafia and their puppet politicians to feed this insatiable hunger for the West, challenging the very foundation of the Soviet Union. Delegates in this committee will be challenged to tackle their respective economic struggles, be it supporting or intercepting smuggling, raising production of state goods, or mediating the disputes that arise with greed amongst the backdrop of a crumbling Soviet Union. Which side of the Iron Curtain will you be on?
